Since our last appeal in November 1998, the RDS has gone from strength to strength.
You generously donated enough to set up a campaigning headquarters in central London and buy computer equipment to produce quality RDS documents.
We need to keep the momentum going. The National Executive decided in September that the time was right for another appeal. Letters appealing for donations were sent to all members in the first week of November. As Marketing Director, one of my main roles is to find sponsorship from organisations and funding from grant-giving trusts. We have already achieved some progress here.
In the next couple of years the office should become increasingly self-sufficient with donations from organisations with a particular interest in environmental and rail travel issues. In the meantime, however, while allegiances are being set up, we need to fill the gap with donations from members.
£15 for example will pay for our Campaigns Director to make a television appearance. I hope you feel able to give generously to the appeal and help to keep the wheels rolling!
Thank you.
