AGM news in brief

Elections

Trevor Garrod was re-elected as general secretary of RDS with 608 votes, as against 347 for challenger Alan Bevan.

The following were successful in the election for places on the National Executive: Jonathan Bray (728 votes), Clara Zilahi (642), Ken Cropley (636), Mike Crowhurst (623), David Henshaw (599), Peter Lawrence (550), John Stewart (546), David Redgewell (544), Donald McPhee (543), Simon Martin (484). The following were not elected: Bill Collins, Charlie Niven, Malcolm Parker, Keith Pennyfather, Michael Rowe, Peter Wakefield.

Thanks

A big thank you to David Butterworth who has resigned as national treasurer. He has put RDS financial affairs in good order. Thanks are also due to Nat Taplin, the society's first salaried official who has also resigned. He will be remembered for his excellent ticket recruitment leaflet.

Thanks too to author and editor David Henshaw who has resigned from the executive. We wish them all well.
