New bus-rail connections Nottingham City Transport has extended the Pathfinder bus services to the East Coast main line station forecourt at Northgate, giving useful connections there.
Robin Hood Line Patronage continues to increase, helped by last year's extension to Worksop. Plans to relieve overcrowding have to wait until May, when extra stock should be available. RDS welcomes these planned improvements, and has written to the county council requesting later evening trains, a Sunday service, and extra double track sections to improve reliability.
Midland Main Line Following its attendance at the unveiling of MML's Turbostar in November, the branch has made contact with MML's new managing director, Brian Burdsall, who plans to meet us.
Local action The branch sent a representative to East Midlands Transport Activists' Round Table (TAR). The TAR, as yet in embryonic form, looks set to become a useful channel to the East Midlands Chamber, (the body which will shadow the East Midlands Regional Development Agency). The RDAs are tasked with drawing up a regional transport strategy.
